Anyone who has Endured a Solicitor's (or Judicial) Misconduct, Please Read

I have recently had the most appalling experience, largely due to the conduct of a solicitor and the dysfunctional County Court system. The SRA were useless, and it is clear that those they regulate can - and are - knowingly acting without integrity or honesty, without fear of repercussions.

The County Court is likewise not fit for purpose, particularly the civil courts, which appear to be designed as a war of attrition, where only the person with the most money can win. It is Dickensian: Judges apparently despise the lay public, caring more about thir precious 'process' than about people. The mentally ill and Litigants in Person are especially at risk. Everything is geared towards getting a result - not a fair result, not a just result - just a result 'to get these annoying little people out of my court.' The standard of administration is so shocking, it actually undermines the integrity of the court system.

I refuse to be treated this way and am fortunate to have an understanding new husband, who is prepared for me to step back from my current professional role to retrain and take those who are responsible for this to task on an ongoing basis, providing support to those who went through what I did and lobbying HMCTS, Parliament and the Bar Standards Board.

As such, I am very interested to hear all your stories and would urge you to respond to this thread so we can arrange to chat offline.

If you’re planning a future career lobbying those who regulate solicitors and judges OP, making representations to the BSB and HMCTS isn’t going to get you very far.

Villagewaspbyke · 11/06/2022 23:40

So what you are saying is you made an unsuccessful complaint about a solicitor?

PersonaNonGarter · 11/06/2022 23:43

I disagree with a lot of your OP. It just doesn’t match my experience.

tbh, you’d be better off committing to some nice life coaching or similar to help you come to terms with what has happened - and move on.

I assume you complained to the SRA. What did they say?

Can you give details of why you were failed by the solicitor and the courts and Judges.

What are you retraining as?

SweetSakura · 12/06/2022 00:00

I am a solicitor, I spent my whole career to now doing transactional work.

I had to go to court to try and keep my children safe. I agree, I was shocked time and again by what I experienced and witnessed. The family court system certainly isn't fit for purpose .

KCG2022 · 12/06/2022 08:58

Tell me about it...SRA were worse than useless too.

Domestic abuse is especially badly handled...

They are not fit for purpose..simply copy and paste what the solicitor says into their report, despite him demonstrably lying to them...as his story changed completely.

That was one small part of it yes.

Too many people have done that in the past so we now have this shambles.

Happy to talk offline with you OP. Though I’m just starting civil action

Add Employment Tribunals to your list. I won my case but the system is shockingly bad.

I'll send you a PM..
