End of lease damage

I handed back my lease car on 10th November 2021 and only today I have received an invoice for damage. It's more than 6 months ago so I assumed there was nothing chargeable except wear and tear.

Are they allowed to wait this long?

You need to check the terms of your lease. I'd assume there would be a time limit. Who is to say whether any damage was caused before or after you returned it?

Have they provided photos or details? Did you get anything signed when you handed it back?

I didn't get a copy no - the guy said it was one of the best conditions he had collected. There was a stone chip on the bonnet which I thought was wear abs tear, the other mark on the rear bumper I expected.

I'm just surprised it took 6 months
