Court waiting area

My partner/ childs dad is currently under trail in court and has been in prison under remand untill the trial is over. Tomorow looks like it will be the last day. We hope. The jury have been in verdict dicussion since 12 today so hopefully a verdict will come apparent by the end of tomorow.

The court has gone on for alot longer than expected due to a jury becoming unwell and having to ajourn untill the next day, wasting majority of a day.

Im not involved in the case but would like to be there to support. Ive got childcare arranged for the morning but unable to find childcare for the afternoon. Would i be allowed to sit in the waiting area with my child? Not go into the actual court room with the child, i would just prefer to be as close as possible and have someone come and tell me in person rather the phone as soon as possible when the verdict comes out and hopefully reunite my child with their dad as qwick as possible as he is very ovioustly missing him! The case has gone well on my partners behalf and looks like a good outcome for him hopefully! So hopefully he will get releaced tomorow.

How old is your child? I would think a court is not the place to take a small child. What if the outcome means he is not released? Surely that would be awful for your child? I would wait until you are sure of the verdict before there is any reuniting.

I don't think children are allowed in but I'd phone them and ask what you can do.

It's a straightforward one to google. You'll have to make sure you are getting the correct info fo the country you're in though. Is it England?
