Cafcass don't recommend Practice Direction 12j

Cafcass apparently don't feel that PD 12j is proportionate in my case, but otherwise don't recommend contact in the interim and the overall letter is positive from my POV. Is that a good thing? Should I request a fact hearing?

Trying to sort out legal aid, but it's slow going and I'm feeling confused in the meantime .

What are their reasons for not recommending contact?

If there are contested allegations of domestic abuse, of sufficient gravity to impact contact, then that's exactly what the PD is for.
