Parking Fine with Incorrect Info

Samara26 · 07/04/2022 22:39

I've received a Parking Charge Notice from Euro Car Parks for overstaying in a retail car park by 40 minutes which I did.

However the letter appears to have two photos of what should be my cat reg, but the first one where it states my entrance into the car park appears to have been strangely tampered with where they have made the first letter of my car reg into a different letter making the reg no not of my car. The exit time stamp and photo of reg plate is correct. You cannot see the car or any background, only the reg plates.

I'm just wondering if I can appeal not to pay because the photo of reg place when I entered the car park has been photoshopped or messed with? It does have sentence above the photos saying the correct reg number that entered and left the car park but the evidence does not line up.

Will they just send me then 2 pics of the correct registration before they weirdly edited it or say it's an admin error and I still have to pay?

I've checked the Martin lewis expert and the general school of thought is, do not ignore these letters anymore. It does mention that if all the info is not correct you can appeal on this basis but I know they'll just amend it and resend the letter again asking for payment.

Problem is I'm moving house soon and don't want to have to re-sure t my mail for more than 6-12 months? So if they kept sending letters after that time I wouldn't get them, although I would update my details with the DVLA as soon as I move, would u really share my new address with people like this, as they may see it as an invitation to pursue or think I'm an easy target?

You overstayed. Pay it.

Pointless answer lol

Do you have anything to lose by responding that the photo does not show your registration plate and say they must have made a mistake?

prh47bridge · 08/04/2022 09:18

I would be very surprised if the photo has been doctored. Why would they do that?

You could try to challenge it, but I suspect you would fail. The information in the letter is correct - you entered and left the car park at the times specified, and they give the correct registration for your car. The photo may have a problem, but that could just be an issue printing it. Their ANPR system clearly correctly identified your car.

How is it a pointless answer? You admit you overstayed and are just trying to weasel out of paying.

That said, I'm not sure why you wouldn't appeal. It's not going to take them so long to reply that your mail redirection has run out.

Hoppinggreen · 08/04/2022 09:57

So you did overstay but are looking for a loophole?
Risky strategy, if you can pay now then do or it could end up costing you a lot more

Seriously look elsewhere for arguments, I'm simply not interested. BYE

Not sure many people will want to help you with that attitude Hmm

I am on here looking for constructive helpful advice only. I personally do not scan forums looking for posts I can pick holes with and antagonise people or make negative comments. And we all know there are plenty of those people online and a few on this thread it seems. I don't need to explain myself, I simply want to engage with pleasant people who have useful advice. The same as I give if I come across a post I can contribute positively to.

This post is clearly attracting the wrong type of attention and people so I'm signing out and will not be able to read any further responses. Not looking for negativity that so many seem to fester on. Life's too short, find things that make u happy. Will request post is removed. Good luck all!! Stay happy! SmileSmileSmile

The constructive advice is to pay what you owe Hmm

Sapphirejane · 08/04/2022 13:07
