Parents of SEN kids - I need your opinions specifically. Because if you have SEN children and advocate for them, you’ll understand it isn’t as straight forward.

Child has complex needs. Not had any contact in 2+ years - only recently has fact finding been done. Waiting for a psychological assessment due to entrenched views.

RP perusing a change in school placement due to significant change in needs. Cafcass officer doesn’t particularly agree with RP. NRP has taken this and ran with it - using to their advantage. ‘Cafcass will sort it dont worry’ - I find this intimidating - due to covert abusive behaviour from NRP since split (over five years). NRP made comments when LO was born like ‘I don’t want a retard kid’ - dismisses needs as something really trivial etc etc.

Now, most people with SEN children will know you often have to appeal decisions, ask for those second opinions - but because cafcass and NRP have different views I fear they’re going to try and push for FII (again) already been not proven.

I obviously can’t prove cafcass bias although I know it is there.

I just don’t know what to do, I know this kind of situation is common with Sen families because you do have to fight for the right support for your child/family yet they are both acting as if I’m doing the wrong thing?

Idk.
