0 hours contract. Agreement states that company do not have to offer work, and that if work is offered the employee does not have to accept it.

Also says the agreement is not a contract to work but a casual working agreement.

They sent out emails saying to book shifts.

Then a few hours later said I hadn’t booked enough shifts and I needed to explain why I wasn’t working more than 12 hours a week. I replied with my reasons but was vague as it’s not really their business.

They haven’t accepted my reasons and said I need to either book 12 hours a week. I replied that I can’t because of the reasons in the previous emails and they have told me that they need to pass it to the CEO for consideration about my position.

I’m worried they’re going to sack me. Would it be unfair dismissal if so?

Probably not unfair dismissal. If they need people to fill all the shifts then they just won't offer you any if you arent choosing enough.

Probably not as when their HR department gets involved they probably wouldn't sack you just not offer you any shifts anymore as they are entitled to do if your description of you zero hours contract is correct.

Update, not been sacked but moved to a different project where I'm able to do less hours but it doesn't start for a few weeks, so I've got no hours for awhile. Which doesn't bother me anyway as I can afford to live on what I get from UC, CB and CM, I work because the job centre told me to.
