Hi everyone

Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on dealing with financial matters after the end of a relationship? A family member has separated from a partner ( not married) however they are not in contact and any communication is not an option for either party. There are various financial matters which neee to be resolved and the sale of a property and bank accounts and also small matters to deal with. My family member is not able to communicate with ex partner and is looking for a representative to contact ex partner on their behalf

Does anyone have any experience or which professional would be best to approach regarding this?

Thanks

Solicitor or mediator.

It might be an idea to contact the bank to freeze any joint accounts, many years ago I was blithely paying my share into a joint account and expecting the mortgage payment to go out, instead my mortgage and rates money was being taken out and spent elsewhere.
