Hello
I’m selling my flat which has a share of the freehold with 2 others. My solicitor has given the ID1 form for the land registry for all of us to complete. One of the other co freeholders lives abroad in Europe so their form has been signed by a solicitor there.

My solicitor won’t accept this as they can’t check the roll number on the Law Society website.

My question is - does this form have to be done by a UK solicitor?

Thanks!

No, but if it is signed by a lawyer practising outside the UK they must provide evidence of their authority to practice in their own jurisdiction.

@prh47bridge thank you- that’s helpful. I believe they have but it’s in another language.
Thanks again for replying
