My lovely tenant was exposed to an explosion of poo while showering. He grabbed details of the Thames Water staff who were responsible for blowing the water back into the house and got an incident number.
My insurance sorted the immediate decontamination. They have asked me to provide evidence of the episode so they can reclaim costs stating that otherwise we would face higher premiums. Which I did.
They have now offered a settlement, minus our excess.
I am not sure how to proceed... Should our insurance company claim the full amount? Or do I need to claim the excess from Thames Water?
