Cross undertaking versus undertaking

I got an ex parted non molestation order last week.

XH asked for me to accept an undertaking. They've now presented it as a cross undertaking which makes me look like the bad guy.

I’ve read it's a clever way to dilute the initial order and XH's lawyer has put in some clauses that serve to silence me, which is another of xH'a control tactics.

I'm worried by this as you can imagine. So I'm thinking of rejecting the undertaking.

But I wanted some MS advice.

MN advice, that is!

Don't accept an undertaking. Breach of an undertaking is not an arrestable offence, whereas breach of a non molestation order is.

As for cross undertakings I couldn't comment. If you are both still living under the same roof then they are sometimes sensible.

I personally would not accept an undertaking as it doesn't have any teeth when it comes to enforcement. It's a way to avoid court proceedings.

My solicitor was really keen on it and I accepted but only unilaterally. Confused
