Can someone clarify if you are requested to provide something 'by 30th Dec 2021' does this mean before the start of 30th Dec, or by the end of the date?

Might sound very pedantic and literal, but I'm used to phrases such as deadline of 12 noon on 30th Dec 2021.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say by the start of that date

What is it? It’s usually by 4pm on that day.

I'd assume by end of 30th Dec personally so potentially up to midnight depending on the delivery method e,g. Electronic delivery up to midnight, physical delivery then by end of last delivery

If I was the one having to meet said deadline, I’d err on the side of caution and get it there by the end of the 29th.

Depends what it is, for most I'd think close of business on the 29th
