Long story, I'll try to keep brief.

Speeding charge, fine recieved in post.

Sent money, forms, and drivers ID off in the post (during peak covid so we had no other way to pay, offices were shut)

Assumed all was well until letter arrived stating court had no response so case was "going to court" and a guilty or not guilty plea was needed.

Spoke to sheriff court who advised in this case to plead not guilty and send off appropriate foams stating what had happened re fine and providing the mail tracking number. Done this.

Now have a court date. 😭 As the not guilty plea was entered.

Basically guilty of the speeding, paid the fine but it went missing and the tracking information for this still shows as "in transit" from last year 🤔🙄 Plead not guilty on the court summons that happened after as advised.

Don't know what to do re court - as have plead not guilty on advise but only not guilty of not paying the fine if that makes sense.

Have you proof the fine was paid? Like it showing as coming out of your bank account or the cheque having been cashed?

Could you pay for an hours consultation with a solicitor to talk you through the best course of action. I'm assuming the fine didn't come out of your bank account and was missed via an admin error?
