You're probably going to have to give us a little more to go on.

Hi everyone first post please bear with me
My Father died 4 years ago and held shares in a local golf club at the time of his death. As his membership lapsed at the age of 80 years and he passed away when he was 84 years of age we were advised after his death that the shares were no longer valid due to him no longer being a member.
This does sound reasonable but just wondered if there was any way to check this ?
Many thanks

If they are shares it is a limited company. You can inspect the articles of association online and see what they say. see here find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/
