Buying me out property

Hi so me and my partner are now separating- we own a 2nd property - his brother owns 50% and we own 25% each on the deeds, there is no mortgage. I want my money released from this so I can along with my equity buy myself and my children a property, my ex is refusing to give me the 25% value as his company paid for the renovation work - is this acceptable and also can I force them to buy me out?

You need to see a solicitor.
If you own 25% then you own it unless there was an agreement for you to reduce your share in exchange for the work done
As for whether you can force a sale or not a solicitor should be able to tell you

Is there a trust deed? If so it should set out how this situation will be handled. You do need to see a solicitor.
