Hi,

My dd is 7 weeks old, father has been in and out of the pregnancy, decided to make some questionable choices and I cut contact due to be abusive behaviour towards the end.

Had my dd and he wasn't around, was working away and I hadn't told him when my c section was. He met my dd and demanded to see her regularly.

I offered twice a week in a cafe etc as don't feel safe him begin at my home and definitely not at his. He's demanding he have her by himself and I have said no. She's 7 weeks old!

He's going to court to argue it etc. Currently he's not got parental rights and he works away, usually in a pattern of 4/5 weeks away and 1/2 weeks home! How would that work in terms of contact please as I'm very confused. And what's the likely outcome?

Thankyou so much :)

Do you have a hearing date yet?

I have cases where the wait for a first hearing was as much as 11 months (London)

A seven week old baby is not going to be going anywhere. A 9 month old baby already well known to the F would get short periods away from M, but the Court will also consider safeguarding, parenting ability etc.

If he can only see baby at intervals of over a month, it will take a long time before the child has a relationship that would make it appropriate for him to take her out away from you.

What were his bad choices?
