Non molestation order

I was wondering whether anyone had experience with non molestation orders and what the success rates of them are?

I am in the process of applying for one against my ex for threats and general harassment in relation to our children and current financial settlement. All I have in regards to evidence are screenshots of texts messages, emails and my word and to be honest there aren't a great deal. This has been escalating over 2 years now and as the Final Hearing approaches his behaviour is worsening as things are not going his way. I reported a threat of physical violence to the police 2 years ago just after our split and also recently separately reported intimidating and threatening texts which is when I was referred onto the NCDV and am subsequently being assisted with the NMO.

I've stopped contact between him and the children as their mental health is suffering (another separate matter which will be dealt with in time) but this is making things worse. I am scared of the application not being successful and being back to being abused and harassed.

Hi there, I was successful with mine last year and I'm so glad I went ahead with it. I was supported by that organisation too in the beginning.

My ex is the biggest arse you would ever meet- and it took approx 9 mths to see through.

I was actually planning to give up on it all for the same reason as you- when I spoke to a really good lawyer who actually believed me- and said that even though every individual thing was minor- it was a pattern of behaviour.

The lawyers I spoke to before also advised me not to proceed as it wasn't worth it.

Once I'd done the free part I did 2 hearings by myself, then realised I would need some support to see it through.

Most people would have the whole matter resolved at the first hearing.

So it's definitely worth pursuing- and you hopefully have nothing to lose. Good luck!

I dont really know what to do… social services are putting the kids on a child in need plan but what needs to happen is that i have to get a non molestation order against my ex partner.
