Please help me change my name

I would like to change my name, but feel a bit overwhelmed at everything that will need changing and in what order to do it.
For example, I thought I would do the non-enrolled change, change my passport, wait for that to come through and then use that to change everything else.

But apparently the passport needs evidence that you're already using your new name (e.g. council bill).

Any advice? The ideal would be a step-by-step, for dummies, process with every possible required change included.

You can do a deed poll and send it off for your passport. I have done this and more recently DS has. We didn't need any evidence of using the name.

My husband did this, he took the deedpoll to the bank and changed it there using only the unenrolled deed poll then sent his next statement to the passport office with the application, then you should have your passport to change everything else, there are several online suggestions of lists of places to remember to change your name, usually aimed at recently married women but should cover most things, one thing we forgot was changing names on old pension pots from prior employers and checking that your current employer updates your current pension scheme when you change your name at hr or whether you need to do it, also if you own a property let the land registry know x

Thank you.Did you use the enrolled or unenrolled deed poll?

Thank you @Elopedincovid, I didn't think of looking up advice for married women. And I hadn't thought about informing the land registry either!

None of our deedpolls have been enrolled

Do you mind me asking, did you set a date and plan for it? I was going to do that, but now I'm thinking I'll just do a step at a time when I have the energy for it.

We just put the current date on the deed poll and told everyone we spoke to that it was effective from xx date that the deed poll was signed
