We're about to have a section 7 ordered by cafcass.
My daughter is pre school aged.
Who will they speak to, can they speak to her nursery and her health visitor?

They spoke to myself, ex, pre-school, GP, health visitor and police in our case.

When did court ordered Section 7? Did cafcass or social services initiate contact with you?
If domestic abuse proven in fact finding, whoever doing S7 will be in touch with all parties involved including nursery/school, GP, social services, domestic abuse team if DA case, police, etc.

I am in this stage too. September s7 ordered and now waiting... I don't know when they will be in touch especially next hearing is in December.
@Pinkyxx any advice from your own experience?

So we're waiting for a hearing to determine who will author the section 7. Our judge has anticipated the former local authority we fled from with input from cafcass will do the section 7, my ex is kicking up hugely as apparently he's claiming bias. He wants an independent social worker to do the section 7 funded by my legal aid. My argument is to date we've had several ISWs involved and there's been multiple issues with them, particularly to safeguarding.. Also whoever authors the section 7 will have access to very personal information, my ex doesn't know where we reside or where our daughter goes to nursery.. I don't trust an ISW to have this information. That's where we're at at the moment. I know the family court is hugely backlogged so not sure when we'll get a hearing.

Well, one thing is sure: the judge will involve the ones that had intensive involvement and in my case, the local authority.
Prepare your arguments in case the judge ask you but I wouldn't stress over it because your ex is just showing the court how bad he is and that child best interest isn't a priority...
insist on your details to stay protected because in my case, it was the police who shared my personal details with my ex... I can't move anymore... I live in fear... Now waiting to see when local authority will assign someone to do the s7 report... I didn't get any updates on this.

The court ordered the first section 7 at the first hearing, and a subsequent one about 3 hearings later. For the first one they contacted us a couple of months before the next hearing but then asked for the next hearing to be pushed back to have more time. similar for the 2nd, but completed in less time. Cafcass & local authority collaborated to complete. It all takes a lot of time unfortunately as they're massively backlogged :-(

That's useful. Has anyone ever known of a successful application for an independent social worker to do a section 7?
