CMS Direct Pay

I have received a letter about child maintenance payments, which I'm happy to pay and it states to pay via direct pay but I've been trying to contact my ex for her bank details but she has just been ignoring me. Can I get them from the cms or will the collect and pay be forced? I really don't want to pay the stupid 20% fees when I'm happy to pay the amount thats in the letter!

You can get the details from cms but the fact it's moved to direct pay indicates you've been inconsistent in the past, direct pay is a final respite after exhausting all other options

@Cait73 that is incorrect. Direct Pay is NOT the last resort for inconsistent payers... thats is Collect Pay.
Direct Pay is where you give your earning info to the CMS for a calculation to be formed. You then pay that money directly to the resident parent. There are no charges. The CMS does not even monitor it as it's for the resident parent to inform them of payments are missed. At this point for inconsistent layers, then Collect Pay with the associated fees would be considered.

I was put on Direct Pay.

My ex caused my unemployment from a highly paid job and I was unable to claim benefits because of my capital. Consequently I emailed my ex and said I would be paying sustenance.

She contacted CMS, I didn't to inform them of what I thought was fair and I was put on direct pay. It's not always that simple.
