How much are normal fees for changing property into sole name under probate?

My mum has just received a bill from her solicitor in Eire for putting her holiday home into her sole name after the death of my stepdad. The admin/registration fees are in the hundreds, but the solicitor fee is in the thousands. How much is normal? We were a shocked at the difference. This whole thing is a mystery to me, so I have no clue.

Sounds odd to me. Is this just for that or for acting as executor after your stepdads death? In any case it is always normal practice to outline and agree the likely fees before the solicitor starts work. You need to see whether that happened.

When my mum died in 2019 it cost under £300 to change the deeds into my dads name & both mine and my sisters name this included setting up an lifetime Interest in my mums half of the house for my dad as that’s what was in my mums will.
I did the probate myself for my mum death
But I’ve used a firm now to do the probate this time as my dads recently passed away and it was a bit more complicated and it’s cost £795 inc probate fees

That's outrageous for something you can just do yourself!
