PILS split up 4 years ago. Divorce proceedings began before Covid. Financial settlement agreed as house sold and MIL bought new house a year ago.
But neither MIL nor PIL are sure why they're not actually divorced yet. Apparently it's held up in the courts (according to them) but my friend split up from her husband in December last year. Divorce came through in June. Settled finances etc.
Is there likely to be more to it than 'held up in the courts'? Unfortunately PILS aren't the brightest so it all goes over their heads.
