Debt collection 5 years after private parking ticket issued

Hi

I have received a letter from a debt collection company saying I owe money from a parking ticket in 2016.

In 2016 I got taken to court for a ticket I received, I won and so I assumed it was this ticket, I called the debt company to explain this and they said it wasn't that one it was another ticket and that appealed and lost so I do owe the money.

I don't remember the details but I didn't hear back from my appeals o assumed it was resolved , I have asked for the letters because apparently they have been writing to me and they have refused to send them as it " not their problem I have lost them" and they said that UK Car parking Management do not have to send me the original ticket details either. I said I wont be paying this and they said they will take me to court then

I am not scared to go to court again, any advice ? shall I just ignore it all until I get something official from a court

I wouldn't pay it & there's no way I'd even consider paying without proof of the ticket and other communication. This could be a total fishing tactic.

I was thinking the same trying their luck . I will ignore until I hear from a court

Ignore. In future never call them - they will always deny what was said and now they’ve got your phone number to harass you.

Go to the Facebook page "Private Parking Ticket Help and Advice". They will help you for free. Do not name the driver and post what you have received with the personal details redacted.

They will most likely advise you to ignore unless you receive a letter before claim which you MUST respond to after their advice.

This companies are bent and are desperately trying to rake in cash before the codes KD practice are changed. They are also known for pursuing claims which have a,ready been resolved at court

Don't appeal to their sense or better nature. They don't have any

Don’t pay. If they were to take you to court they would have to show the letters anyway.

But they won’t, cos it’s a scam.

Ignore everything from debt collection companies don't even speak to them, they are powerless.

Don't ignore anything from court. That's the point where you need to engage with these dickheads.

You don't sound worried by the threat of court which is great, it's nothing to fear for the likes of this.

Until you get a letter before action ignore it.
