Severing Joint Tenancy Question

Can anyone advise me on whether I legally need to give a reason if I am severing a joint tenancy (ie serving a notice on the co owner rather than severing it as a mutual decision). Does the severance notice need to include a reason as to why I am severing?

No it doesn’t, and probably shouldn’t due to its irrelevance.
