Joint executor acting alone

Any probate solicitors here?
I am a joint executor with one other person and private has been granted. We are using a solicitor to collect / distribute and to obtain probate.
The co executor has sold a large number of personal items of value - art, antiques, a valuable watch etc. Total value in the thousands rather than tens of thousands for context.
The solicitor acting for the estate tells me it was perfectly ok for the co executor to sell those things without my k nowledge / consent / involvement but otherwise all decisions must me agreed upon.
I am struggling to see the distinction- these are not “personal effects” like clothes / books / plates but valuable items on which IHT has been paid.
Is anyone able to confirm tgis? And what is the legal author for that? Really appreciate it (I am v upset at the sale of my mother’s things)
(Solicitor but not probate!)

No advice, sorry, but you might get more replies and definitely better advice over on the legal board. You can report your post and ask for it to be moved

Good point - one ping before I do that
