Error on Death Cert. How much of a problem?

Evening knowledgeable people. A family member recently passed away. It has since been noticed that the death certificate has the wrong date of birth for the deceased, by one day. The death was registered over the phone, and it is unclear where any blame lies, however it is done and pointing fingers is not going to help.
What on earth do we do about this? is it a big problem and hard to fix, or relatively simple?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks.

The issue will be if any financial institutions refuse to settle any matters because of this. Errors have been made on certs since 1837 so it's normal from that point of view. It's more about what you are using it for.

You can get notes added to correct information but it does cost (from memory the registrar told me it was £90 but you’d need to check). I’ve registered 3 deaths this year via phone, in each case not only did they check the information as I provided it, they also read out all the information on the certificate before completing it.

I’d suggest getting a note added. Every single financial organisation I have contacted has asked for date of birth, and having this incorrect on the death certificate is likely to be a problem.

Apparently it is possible to add a correction to a death certificate:

I had to phone the doctor who signed my mum's death certificate as he'd got the date wrong. He said he couldn't see the problem, so I rang the funeral director who sorted it out as I was a two hour drive away.

Thanks all. Useful to know. The wrong DOB is another family birthday and I can't help wondering if the reporting family member got muddled, but never mind we'll get it sorted!
