My daughter has decided she wants to change her name. She’s been using it for a year and wants to make it official. She said she can use an unenrolled deed poll by using a template on gov.uk or a free deed poll site. I was wondering if anyone had any advice? Smile

No one knowledgeable has replied, so I'll give my non professional opinion.
Firstly I'd use gov uk rather than a random free site.
Secondly I'd read about how to get your passport or driving licence if applicable updated. Once that is done i think many things will follow from that. If there are special passport requirements then you'll find out soon and have to do something else

I changed my son's recently after a bit of research i paid to have it drawn up by a company. Ds is under 16 though and i wanted to ensure his passport application would be accepted. I had to send proof that he used the name (school letters including middle name) and letters from myself and his dad saying we consented to the name change, im not sure if your dd would need to do the latter.
