Lifetime interest property

What happens if the person living under lifetime interest in a property is unable to maintain it?
Are the eventual beneficiaries of a half share expected to assist? I realise that it's in their interest to maintain the fabric of the building to protect its value but what about things like garden maintenance/cleaning etc?

It would really depend on the terms of the trust. It's very unlikely that the eventual beneficiaries are required to do anything at all though.
