How to cope during court proceedings?

Hi everyone, I'm currently going through a horrible custody battle(first court hearing in October)I can't go into too much detail but my ex partner of many years is being absolutely horrible and unbearable to put it bluntly.

If anyone has been through a similar situation, what were your coping mechanisms? I'm absolutely distraught and I'm really struggling with the accusations that are being made via my ex partner. Funny how you can be with someone for years and years and not know what they're like. Horrible man.

Thanks for any support.

I just muddled through. Have you got people around you that you can talk to? Being able to call someone and have a glass of wine and a rant when the DC were in bed was the only thing that kept me sane.
I self represented but paid for 30 minutes with a great solicitor whenever things were getting too much or too complicated. Sometimes having someone calmly tell me that it was almost certainly going to be OK and giving me the exact wording to use in statements made me feel a lot better.
Don't read anything from your ex until you've got the time and head space to cope with it. Reading false allegations in the morning gives you the whole day to worry and have it on your mind. I found reading in an evening, taking time to do something physical to think about it and then reading it again made me feel stressed for less time.
