DBS check and cautions

Hi

I am applying for a role to work in a children’s home and they have asked me if I have any cautions.

I did have 2 cautions from 10 years ago roughly. Do I need to declare these?

Depends what the cautions were for. Most are removed from DBS checks after 6 years but some are never removed.

Yes, as this is likely to be an Enhanced DBS. Better to be safe than sorry.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. Most cautions are removed from all DBS checks, including enhanced checks, after 6 years. Some are never removed. It depends on the offence.

Depends on the offence, traffic no as irrelevant, for anything violence based they stay on fir enhanced

If in doubt it is better to be open and honest about it. Even if you do have a caution it won't necessarily stop you from getting the job.
