Setting up baby and toddler group

A friend and I really want to start our own not for profit baby and toddler group. We have loads of young families in the rural village we live in and it's so badly serviced for kids.

We're thinking of asking for donations and using donations to pay for the cost of hiring the hall, any extra well put to buying cakes or something for the group.

I'm assuming we'll need some sort of insurance for this, does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, try Morten Michel parent & toddler group insurance.

The hall (if used for other community events) should have public liability insurance that would cover you. Speak to the person in charge - they'll be able to confirm and can probably get it added to the insurance if needed for very little money.

I'd recommend having a low entry fee which you can waive if needed (and include a cuppa and a biscuit for it). Our local playgroup is £1.50 +50p for each additional child. It's by far the cheapest in the area because we get the hall virtually free. Any extra funds get spent on special bits at Xmas/Easter
