Residential Status

My partner lives with me, mortgage is in my name as I owned the house previously. He contributes towards some bills and food, but not towards the mortgage. We are happy with this agreement and long term will sell this house and buy together.

The issue is his residential status, when filling in forms and particular applying for any finance, it always asks for his residential status but non of the options seem right? It gives

Home owner with out mortgage
Home owner with mortgage
Private tenant
Council tenant
Living with parents

But non of these apply? It doesn't hive an option for other.. would private tenant be the "best" option?

I was in your partners position for a year and a half and I used to put private tenant as it seemed the one that most fit.
