Divorce timelines

How long does it take for mutual divorce from the time of filing to decree nisi, under current COVID timelines? Any information would help. Thanks

I applied in August 2020, decree nisi application was granted in late Sept and the decree absolute was granted in Feb 21. We probably would have got the absolute earlier but there was a lot of faffing with the consent order which didn't go in till Dec 2020. It was pretty smooth and painless all things considered. HTH

Thank you . Thats 8 weeks for the decree nisi which is quite fast in these times.. fingers crossed 🤞

Thank you. How long does the court take to approve the financial order? It can be filed only after the decree nisi is received, as I understand. Is that right?

' How long does the court take to approve the financial order'.

^ I'd be interested in knowing this too if anyone can advise

Should we wait for decree nisi before filing the consent order? This link says we can file the consent order as soon as the paper work for divorce has been started

Could someone confirm?

@Familylawsolicitor thank you so much. Agree, worth paying the solicitor so it doesn’t go back and forth.
