To cut a long story short, we had work done. It was done badly and has never fully worked. 2 years later it ended up in the small claims court. We were awarded £10,000. The company didn't pay. A day before the deadline to appeal expired, they applied for a 7 day extension to the appeal time. Then the day that ran out, they applied to extend the time they could have to appeal- to September! They also applied for a transcript of the original hearing but claim they can't get it because the recording doesn't have audio.
Looking for advice on whether there's a limit to how long they can be allowed to extend the time in which they can appeal? And realistically, how likely is it that the appeal will be permitted- does it happen often?
I was so glad it was over and done with, so the thought of this dragging on past September is awful! Especially as the work needs redoing- it's something we can't live without- so now we have to pay again, which I don't really have the money for...any advice appreciated!
