Beginning to separate

OH and I are beginning to separate. Not fully sure if we will divorce yet or just legally separate.
Our house is a bit complex. My mum and dad gave us the deposit for our house and due to my poor credit score the mortgage went in OH's name only. He pays the mortgage and I pay the bills. We have various debt between us.

I don't know whats best right now, sell the house, pay my parents back (who will probably buy somewhere for the kids and I to live) and clear our debts or we carry on as we are (me and the kids in the house and him at one of his parents). The mortgage is due for renewal this summer and I think we should sell. He hates living here so he's not going to come back to it and I can't afford to take it on, he would have to remortgage it in his name again.

@Itsybitsydooda how much did your parents give you? Was it a large deposit?
Apply for universal credit if you think you'll qualify, you can do this if you're separated but still living under the same route, it takes about five weeks to first payment. Do you work? There are mortgage companies that will take into account benefits and child maintenance as well as your income so if your credit rating has improved you may be able to get a mortgage on your own if you have a decent deposit.
