Small claims court

Can I go to small claims court to recoup half of the costs of my divorce?
When I started the divorce, I was told it was unlikely I would be able to get my exH to pay half. He has since paid absolutely nothing and it has cost me around £2500. His solicitor has even said he would pay the financial order, yet it was passed onto me anyway.
I'm not too bothered if I can't. I'm just wondering whether this is something I could pursue.
Thanks

Can your solicitor not explain? Did you ask for a costs order in your petition?

Have you already got an order for him to pay you? If so you can enforce that order. You apply to the family court to do so.

No, there is no order that he pays anything. At the time I just wanted it done as quickly as possible but now I resent the fact he's gotten away with not paying when he was the one who left and wanted to divorce in the first place.
