Executor from Hell

Does anyone have experience of taking an executor to court to have them removed, the executor is obstructive, uses delaying tactics and has failed to account for the money that they have taken from the deceased’s estate? We have appointed a contentious probate solicitor, but really like to know if anybody has been successful in court, especially as there are no guarantees re. legal costs and we are obviously concerned about if we are going to pay hefty legal costs. We’re hoping that any legal costs will be deducted from the estate or hopefully the executor who we’re hoping to have removed will have to pay the legal costs. The other executor has tried their best to get probate, but due to the other executor’s behaviour this has been unsuccessful.
Due to the executor not producing the documents, Grant of Probate can’t be applied for, thus the deceased’s house cannot be sold. A very sad state of affairs.
