Please can someone advise us?
My DC joined the university campus gym on arriving at accommodation in halls (first year) back in September.
Used the gym a handful of times. Then lockdown and returned home earlier than planned at Christmas due to the crisis and of course, still at home now.
Last week emailed the gym to request a refund ( had paid £210 membership for the academic year).
Just received a reply. No membership refunds but instead an extension to the membership once it reopens!
This is of course no use to students. Who wants to be a member of the uni gym in August when they are home for summer!
Next September DC will be in private lodgings as a second year so again, not planning to use that gym as there will be other closer ones.
Any advice greatly accepted as to what to advise DC to do next. Small claims? Local MP? Petition? (The gym is of course closed so the service is not available yet they paid in good faith).
Or wasting their time?
Thanks for reading.
