Police Caution

My exh spat at me last year and I reported it to the police. He was arrested and bailed and I didn't hear anything further.

At a recent child proceedings hearing, his barrister said he voluntarily accepted a police caution. Can I contact the police to confirm?

You can contact them. You should have been told of the outcome of the case, it's pretty crap of the investigating officer that you weren't told.

For what it's worth you have to "voluntarily" accept a caution or the case cannot be dealt with that way. Should be used for minor, first offence that is admitted to. Not suitable for serious offences. The barrister was trying to mitigate the seriousness of what happened by phrasing it that way.
