Tennant rights?

I recently learned that my landlord allowed my neighbor a copy of my keys to my apartment. Hate to say it but I'm a lousy house keeper. I'm a single father of two working full-time in the morning, attempting to keep up with my kids and there schooling in the afternoon, and barely able to sleep most nights. My neighbor constantly enters my home while I'm gone and then my landlord contacts me about a need to do a walk-through of the apartment usually first thing the following morning. What rights do I have as a tenant? Where can I draw a line?

If someone enters your Home without your permission you call the police and report the trespass.

First things first, put in writing to the landlord that you do not give permission for the neighbour to enter your home. Ask the ll to tell them to stop. Then, regardless of the reply, change the locks, keep the old ones, and put them back on when you move out. Advise your landlord that you have done so, and in writing offer then a key on condition that they do not provide your neighbour with a copy. If that isn't acceptable to the landlord, seriously consider moving. Also places like Shelter can advise you more on your rights as a tenant.

What country are you in?

Your neighbour can be classed as an “agent” of your landlord, BUT they still need to give you 24 hours WRITTEN notice to enter the property. This is wrong...on so many levels.
