Legal aid - urgent question

Hi all -
I have my first hearing with ex partner in the family court coming up. I received an emergency certificate for legal aid, my solicitor has applied for the substantive certificate and has advised me there's no reason I won't get approved as I have all the qualifying criteria met. I haven't heard back that it's been approved yet and they have instructed a barrister to represent me next week at the hearing.. she's emailed me to say if my legal aid isn't approved by then the barrister costs £500, she's told me not to panic (because she knows I can't afford that) and she will do everything to chase it up this week.. how long does legal aid normally take to approve? its been months, since July, I've been means tested again twice but was told because I am in receipt of UC that I qualify automatically and that there's been severe DV in my relationship with ex p that's documented by Police and SS.. Trying not to panic...
Anyone?

Logic, common sense and fairness say this will be sorted. Sorry no actual knowledge. Although... You could call the domestic abuse helpline or your local DA support service (I know ours help with legal advice). DA national line is 0808 2000 247. I think they would at least be able to direct you to your local service if you are not already engaged with them. Please don't panic. You been though so much I imagine. You can, and will, hold your nerve through this and be proud of yourself. You absolutely should not have to find this strength, but you will. I am on your side and rooting for you. Flowers

Have you asked your IDVA? They might be able to reassure you?
