How do I get my information removed from google

So basically from doing a quick search on how to do this, it says online that you have to contact the owner of the website.
The owner of the website is saying they can’t contact google on my behalf so I’m getting nowhere.
Please help!? Thanks

Don’t think the owner of the website can change google listings but they can remove you from their own website which would remove it

Alternatively you could do SEO which moves the listing down the page (it basically bombards other listings instead with hits so those hits move up and yours moves down) but that would likely be a cost you don’t wanna pay

What’s the content and why do you want it removed?

You need to get the content in question removed from the internet - so you delete your linkedin account, or ask the website to remove the content about you, or whatever. You can't keep the content on the website and have it not appear on google, afaik.

Google is just a search engine. If you don't want your data appearing then you have to remove the original listing.

So they say they have removed my information from their website under gdpr, but when I google I can still read my name and some information.
It’s to do with a hobby so nothing serious but it has personal information like my height etc etc
I would just rather it’s now removed as I’m not taking part anymore.
I’m getting nowhere as I’ve explained this to them, I’ve deleted from my side also but when I google I can still read my name and a few lines of personal information eg height etc etc etc
Despite having contacted them a few times, they keep saying that they can’t contact google to remove this. Any ideas?

They have to remove the info from the site. When they've done this it will take a while to update the listings on Google it's not immediate. The other thing is to check if you are looking at a cached copy of the page, thus can happen. To check go into settings on Google and remove the website from your browser/ clear the cache. Another way to check again us to search again using a different browser like firefox or edge.

Ohalrightthen · 28/10/2020 22:12

It takes time for the metadata to change and the google listing to update. If it's been deleted from their site then it could be a month r two til it disappears from google. There's nothing you, they or google can do about that.

Sycamoretrees · 28/10/2020 22:13

Are you sure the info is not cached on your computer/ phone? Try googling from a different computer or device that you've not tried before and see if it's still there. Now the info has been removed from the site it should disappear from Google fairly quickly too.

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 28/10/2020 22:14

How long ago did the website say they they had deleted it? As a pp said it can take a while for things to update.

Blibbler · 28/10/2020 22:15

You can ask Google to reindex the site. I don't know if you have to be the website owner for Google to do this

ShirleyPhallus · 28/10/2020 22:16

If it’s removed from the website then it will be removed from google in a few weeks / months

May also be cached on your browser so try it in private mode / from another device

Blibbler · 28/10/2020 22:17

Sorry link didn't work but if you Search for Google index or Google recrawl links you should find the Google support page

Sunnyautumn234 · 28/10/2020 22:23

Thanks folks, I didn’t know that it takes a while for it then to be removed from google. I really appreciate the knowledge on this site
Thank you!
