Friend's Inheritance-- how to Protect from Separated Husband

My friend is selling a house she inherited from her dad who died a couple of years ago. She has been separated for about 4 years. She was married for about 15 years and has no children. Is there any way she can protect this from her husband who may well come sniffing for this money? Trust fund or a gift for her nephews? Thank you.

She should get a divorce and sort out a financial settlement. Anything else would be a transaction intended to prevent or reduce financial relief and the courts can set aside the transaction.

Yes, she needs to divorce him.

I agree with all of the above

Yes she needs to divorce him but unfortunately too late to avoid the inheritance being part of the assets to be divided up.

Not necessarily. It will have to be declared but, as it post-dates the separation and has clearly been kept separate from other matrimonial assets, it is likely the court will only dip into her inheritance if there is no other way to meet her ex's reasonable needs.

Thanks very much everyone.
