Claim on estate

Does anyone have experience with claims on estates?
Would a judge look at the timescale?
If a claim was made 6 years ago but was not pursued, then expired, then resubmitted, would the claim be likely to be allowed to proceed now?

The time limit is six months. Most estates would have long since been distributed after more than six years.

The claim was submitted within the 6 months but wasn’t pursued. It expired 3 years ago but has now be resubmitted and a hearing date set.
The estate has not been distributed.
