Residence Permit, name change and citizenship

Hello,

I have a biometric residence permit. I got married last year and completely forgot that I had to update the name.

Can I apply for citizenship with the permit I have now or do I have to go through the process of updating the name and getting a new one?

I've started the process for updating the name, it's costing £248 and then I have to attend an appointment, which are all booked up until November 4th unless I want to pay another £100+

(Not sure if this is the right forum, finding info for this is frustratingly hard)

Thanks :)

I am not sure. It might be worth contacting a solicitor such as an immigration firm - Gherson & Co are one I know. Hopefully an immigration lawyer might come along.
