Minor car accident

A few days ago I was in a minor car accident with a motorbike, it wasn't my fault but I believe the other driver is disputing. He said at the time he was not injured. I have a witness who agrees I wasn't at fault. The damage in both my car and bike is minimal and my father in law says he can sort mine no problem. So I won't pursue my insurers for repair and will tell them tomorrow. Insurers are already involved and this morning I got a call from an accident management company on behalf of the other driver, I refused to speak with them and said my insurers are dealing with it. Should I txt the other driver and say I'm not pursuing in the hope he backs out too? Also looking for some words of comfort and support. I know it's so minor but I've never had an accident before and am really suffering with stress and my anxiety about this. I feel I'm in trouble although I've done nothing wrong. And I have no one around me to talk to about it, OH is working abroad and my family are bored of hearing about it. Sad TIA

Do not text the other driver. Let your insurance company handle it. It is very unlikely they would back down just because you are sorting out repair of your own car yourself. Indeed, they may see this as a tacit admission that you are at fault.

Try not to worry. If the only witness says it is the other driver's fault and sticks to that you are unlikely to have any problems.

@prh47bridge yes agreed I have since thought it's not a good idea to txt them. Thank you. Things really play on my mind due to my anxiety. I feel silly that I need reassurance but this is a first for me.

You were right to refuse to speak to the accident management company..many are completely crooked.

I had an accident...hit from behind when stationary and parking brake applied. Massive damage. Occurred Friday night and by Sunday I started getting calls. The only organisation that knew was the insurance company for the offending party so it was obvious staff there were leaking personal information presumably for money to accident management companies.

I complained to the insurer but they found my complain wasn't founded!!

@Sunflowergirl1 yes it's annoying I think we will now be bombarded I'm not answering anymore calls unless I know who it is.

3 years later and I'm being called most weeks. Most are automated messages pretending to be live. All on my mobile. I have BT call Guardian on my landline and it is totally effective in blocking.
