House ownership/Will.

Can anyone advise on this please? My sister is making a will soon and mentioned this.

Thinking of transferring our house ownership to tenants in common and each leaving our half of the house to the DC. This ensures they’ll get a share of the house, even if the surviving one of us goes into care. Now I am worried that I (or DH) would be left owning only half of a house, this cutting down our options should we wish to relocate etc.

Any suggestions?

You would yes if one of you die. The other would only own half the house.

Leave the surviving spouse a lifetime interest in the house with it passing to the children on their death. That would keep open the survivor's options to relocate whilst still ensuring that the children get a share of the house.

Thanks both, will pass that on.
