Malicious social work reports

Is there anything that can be done against someone who filed a malicious social work report? If you have undeniable proof? The same woman then contacted benefit fraud team and made a malicious report there after the social work report was dismissed. This woman has now done 2 separate malicious reports and has rocked my family for a year? Is there anything police could do? I dont even know if theres a law thats been broken but I have proof of who did it and that their intention was malice.

Thanks all!

Maybe some sort of harassment charge? You would think there had to be law against it, otherwise what’s stopping you from just retaliating.

Smallsteps88 · 01/08/2020 22:53

Police for harassment? Solicitor to write a cease and desist letter or some sort of non molestation order?

OhTheRoses · 01/08/2020 22:53

Not sure if it comes under defamation , slander, libel, etc? It's dependable but if you don't have legal aid v v expensive. Probably better to move on.

Wishforsnow · 01/08/2020 22:55

What do you think is her reason for doing so?

Wishforsnow · 01/08/2020 23:02

Just wondering how you have undeniable truth. There are occasions that something that could for example be raised to a gp or teacher and they might raise a concern to be looked into and I can't see that that could be defermation or similar it is ensuring a child is protected.

I was shown a conversation between the reporter and a family member and in the messages (which i now have) it reads;

"Social work deemed them fit parents so now im going for their benefit claims. This isnt to affect the kid but them"

Then further down "my goal is to run them out of {hometown}"
We have had bother with the family in question but didnt realise they were behind all this weird stuff like all these reports and police turning up for no reason until I read that. I wish MN let you post pictures to I could have attatched them here!

Good luck

My neighbours recently turned into neighbours from hell without provocation. I got cctv fitted around my house and garden to try and stop them and then a month or so later the police knocked on my door asking if anyone had a grievance with me. When I said neighbour they came in and said anon report had been made about child neglect. It was awful and ridiculous claims ( leaving my two children alone unattended in house- I said my cctv would show never happened, house was unfit and not clean but I have a cleaner each week and friends who visit and could verify not case etc) police said straight away could see it was malicious. They have said any further reports they would investigate where come from after I explained what neighbour had been doing.

Part of me thinks what will they do next and part of me hopes they will do another report so police investigate them and prosecute for wasting police time and making malicious claims.

Such a horrible low nasty thing to do - I hope you are able to get help with your problem x
