Change of name proof

Hi,
I changed my name via deed poll a few years back and a friend signed it. I've never experienced any problems with any organisations accepting it as change of name proof.

However, I want to get married abroad in a couple of years, and I've been told only a deed poll sighed by a solicitor or notary, or a statutory declaration will be accepted.
What should do?

  1. Do a statutory declaration

  2. just use your passport in your new name and don't mention your old name.

  3. ask a solicitor how much it will cost to have the poll notorised.
