Birth registration

Has anyone been able to fast track birth registration? My daughter needs to get a passport for her baby ASAP but our local registry office is still closed. It’s really hard to find any information.

Anyone else in the same boat or managed to do this?

Hi @Sca1959, we realise this thread was posted a few days ago now but we're just going to move it over to our Legal Matters topic in case anyone's around to answer your question.

Have you phoned a registry office for advice? I've spoken to 2 in different areas this week so at least some are open.

I spoke to our local office who where not very helpful. Not open yet and will have a huge backlog as no babies have been registered since March. The baby has to be registered in the county/ area of birth so feel a bit stuck.
